Favouritism causing mediocrity!

A recent letter in this paper “hit” a certain “nail” pun it “head”. It had to do with cricket and some West Indian players who doing “business” in de current Indian Premier League (IPL). De Bell Crier intention is not fuh prevent any player from earning but it gat to do with principle and loyalty of de player to dem home team! Tek fuh example, Pollard, Bravo and Samuels, who are all paying fuh different teams in de IPL. Before de fifth IPL began, de West Indies started a home series against Australia which still going on. All three played in de earlier matches and then leff half way and fly off to India.

De question must be asked again, how come only West Indies players can just abandon a series and rush to play fuh a lucrative league? While de answer is money, how come only dem getting permission? Players from de Australia team, Mike Hussey and David Warner, is in de IPL, but will finish de West Indies tour as a priority and then go. Is de same thing that happen when England played Sri Lanka while de IPL was going on. At de end of de series then de players went across!

West Indies players must mek a choice, either IPL based on availability like other players, or IPL alone! De actions of de three can only be seen as one of disrespect and disloyalty to Regional cricket which de WICB encouraging! De West Indies team ain’t doing well long now because of limited talent, yet, de three who are considered talented are automatic picks only when dem available! In other words, dem selection is convenient! This has to be de most ridiculous position in world cricket and it is not de first time Bravo and Pollard abandoned de team fuh other leagues!

Some believe that de perceive good relations between de West Indies coach and de three players mentioned, mek dem “own way”. Yet de coach gat “testicular temerity” to tell de Region that Narsingh is on probation! Why? He never abandon de team! What about putting dem who abandon de team on probation! Boards, other than the West Indies tek de right stance; home team first! Fuh West Indies, is look like mediocrity first! That is why dem drop Bishoo after one bad match but keep others who gat a string of bad matches! Where is de local representation fuh Bishoo? A swap with Fudadin does not resolve de problem.

Fudadin should have been there in de first place! When a Trini or a Jamaican get a raw deal dem people does mek noise. De only noise we good at meking is with de Tassa and African drums at a match! Good luck Assad and Narsingh. Do yuh best so that hopefully, yuh bats gon keep de three from getting pick automatically and maybe advertise yu’all fuh de IPL!
